The Mammoth Jack originated from United States of America. These donkeys were crossbred from Poitou, Andalusians, Catalonians, and Maltese. The Mammoth Jack was developed to be great mules for work and riding. These donkeys were considered to be the finest by 1915. Due to the changing times and new machinery these donkeys came close to disappearing.The Mammoth Jack is a male donkey that stands at least 58 inches high. The female Mammoth Donkey is called jennets and stands at least 56 inches high. To create the mule the Mammoth Jack is bred to a mare and the offspring is a mule. These mules were used for farm work. Today the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy consider the Mammoth donkey to be rare.
