The Kisber Felver originated from Hungary. These horses were nearly destroyed during the two World Wars that affected the country. Half the breeding stock that was left in 1945 was taken as war damages and many were used to develop other stock. The US Remount imported 150 Kisber Felver horses and when the remount was disbanded in 1947 the horses were sold at public auction. Today there are efforts being made to save the Kisber Felver due to the horses numbering less than 2000 in the world. The Kisber Felver stands on average 15.3 to 17 hh. The Kisber Felver is a great performance horse that has excellent temperament and stamina and may perform well in sport horse competitions. The Kisber Felver breeding stallions are inspected and licensed by a committee and there is a list of acceptable breeding crosses.
