The Dulmen Pony is a pony of mixed origins that is native to Germany. The Dulmen Pony resembles the British New Forest, although there is no connection between the two. These ponies have run wild out on Wesphalia’s Meerfelder Bruch since the early 1300s. It is said that this breed may have contributed to the early Hanoverian horses. The Duke of Croy owns the last existing herd of Dulmen ponies. This herd of ponies serves no practical purpose except decoration and is located on the Meerfelder Bruch.
