The Deliboz are found in the Azerbaijan in the regions of Akstafa, Kazakh, and Tauz. In the 1930s and 1940s the Deliboz were improved by crossbreeding with Karabakh and Arabians. The Deliboz have been crossbred with Tersk sires and Arabians since the 1950s. The Deliboz is similar to the Karabakh, however since the 1950s the Karabakh have been bred separately. The Deliboz have a fine working capacity. They do well under a saddle, carrying a load for long distances, or racing. They stand at the withers on average 152 cm with a 172 cm chest girth. The Deliboz have a short head, slender nose and heavy compact neck. The temperament of the Deliboz may be characterized as unstable.
