The Chilean Corralero originates in Chile. This horse evolved from the Spanish horses brought from southern Peru in the mid-1500s. The first pure Chilean breed was developed in the early 19th century and by the late 19th century the Chilean Corralero had been developed. The horses in Chile have been used in war for the Spanish conquerors, farmers for agriculture, war for the Army, and as transportation and for plantation work. Today the Chilean Corralero are mostly used for working cattle and in Chilean rodeo. In these rodeo events the Chilean Corralero can demonstrate many of its abilities.
