The Baluchi horse originates in parts of Baluchistan and Sind Provinces and some districts in the Punjab Province. The Baluchi is said to have descended from the West African Barb down from the horses of Mali, the Beledougou or the Banamba. These breeds often have curved ears. The Kathiawari is said to have been descended from the Baluchi. The Baluchi are larger than a pony and light in build. The Baluchi are used for tent pegging and pleasure riding.
